Accessibility statement for this website

The practice of Dr. Günter Lechner is committed to making the website lechner.gl accessible. This statement sets out how far we have got, and names the remaining limitations openly.

Conformance status

WCAG 2.1 – Level AA

This website is partially conformant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. “Partially conformant” means that the level A and AA requirements are met, with the exception of the two points listed below. The highest level, AAA, is not met throughout.

What was checked and is met

  • Colour contrast (1.4.3): every colour combination was measured, in both the light and the dark theme. Body text reaches 9.4:1, headings 15.6:1 and links 9.9:1; the weakest value for text is 4.6:1 and therefore above the required minimum of 4.5:1.
  • Use without a mouse (2.1.1, 2.4.7): all content and controls can be reached with the keyboard. The element currently in focus receives a clearly visible 3 pixel outline (contrast 6.4:1). The expanded menu closes with Esc, and focus returns to where it was.
  • Skip link (2.4.1): a “Skip to content” link bypasses the menu.
  • Structure and mark-up (1.3.1): headings form a complete outline with no skipped levels; opening hours are marked up as a description list and the fees as a table with header cells and a caption.
  • Graphics (1.1.1): the site uses no content images. All icons are purely decorative and hidden from screen readers; controls without visible text carry a text alternative.
  • Language (3.1.1, 3.1.2): the page language is declared, and the language menu states the target language for each of the five languages.
  • Zoom and reflow (1.4.4, 1.4.10): the site works at 200 % zoom and down to a window width of 320 pixels without horizontal scrolling; all font sizes are relative.
  • Motion (2.2.2, 2.3.1): nothing flashes, nothing moves by itself and there are no time limits. Fade-in effects switch off as soon as “reduce motion” is set in the operating system.
  • Not by colour alone (1.4.1): the opening status is always given in words as well, not only through the colour of the badge.
  • State information (4.1.2): the menu and theme buttons expose their state programmatically.
  • Portrait and landscape (1.3.4) are both fully usable.

The requirements for video and audio (1.2) and for forms (3.3) do not apply – the website contains neither media nor input fields.

Known limitations

The following content is not accessible, for the reasons given:

  • The Google Maps map on the home page. This is third-party content whose accessibility is outside our control. The map is loaded only after you explicitly consent; the address, the parking information and the route-planning link are provided as equivalent text alongside it, so no information is lost.
  • Without JavaScript enabled, several sections of the home page stay invisible because they are revealed on scroll. This does not occur when “reduce motion” is set in the operating system. A fix is planned.

Why not level AAA

Level AAA would require, among other things, a contrast of at least 7:1 for supporting text as well; those values currently range between 4.6:1 and 5.2:1. In addition, the abbreviations ÖGK, SVS and BVAEB are explained only through a tooltip that cannot be called up with the keyboard.

How this statement was prepared

This statement was prepared on 30 August 2026 and is based on a self-assessment. The source code, keyboard-only operation and every colour combination in both themes were examined. The home page and the subpages, which use the same building blocks, were covered. No external audit has taken place.

The statement is made voluntarily: the practice is not a public body under the Austrian Web Accessibility Act (Web-Zugänglichkeitsgesetz) and is therefore not obliged to publish one.
